Ongoing Projects
Regenerative Farming for Communities
Implementation of Permaculture food farm in Porto Brandão
About the project
CATCH Permaculture is located in Greater Lisbon, Portugal. We are implementing the ideology of permaculture on our land located in Costa da Caparica to create a harmonious relationship between landscape, animals, and people. This organic, local and seasonal garden, in addition to reusing old agricultural land, contributes to the fight against unsustainable modern agriculture which overexploits land due to mass production, rendering the land unfit and destroyed.

Why is Permaculture important?
Permaculture integrates land, resources, people, and the environment through mutually beneficial synergies. This leaves no waste and closed-loop systems are seen in diverse natural systems. Permaculture studies and applies holistic solutions that are applicable in rural and urban contexts. It is a multidisciplinary toolbox including agriculture, water harvesting and hydrology, energy, natural building, forestry, waste management, animal systems, aquaculture, appropriate technology, economics, and community development. This ideology is created to work with nature, not against it.
Our purpose is to fight social exclusion and poverty by empowering people through recruiting and teaching the fundamentals of permaculture.
- Preservation and regeneration of the environment and biodiversity;
- Build a community for individual and collective well-being;
- Sharing resources and equitable redistribution of surpluses;
- Donations of the harvest to chosen charities;
- Promote sustainability and teamwork;
- Community growth and development.
